Ways to support Irving School PTA

Ø     Become a member! – Members get a voice on issues and events within our school that affect our kids.  On a larger scale you will be a part of the largest child advocacy groups that helps to lobby for laws to make all schools a better place.  Any adult is eligible to become a member (mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, etc.)  Membership dues are only $5.

 Ø     Clip Box Tops for Education! – Box Tops for Education can be found on many popular grocery store items, such as General Mills cereal (Cherios, Trix, Chex, etc.), Ziploc bags, Kleenex, Pillsbury products & much more.  Each Box Top is worth 10 cents.  The class with the most Box Tops at the end of the year will receive an ice cream party.

 Ø     Internet shopping is easy! - go to www.boxtops4education.com, register as a booster club member (this also benefits our Box Top fund), then click on the Box Top market place for a list of 200 on-line stores.  A percentage of your purchase will go to Irving School PTA.

 Ø     Clip Campbell’s Labels for Education! – Collect the UPC codes from Campbell’s soup, Prego pasta sauce, Pepperidge Farm products & more.  Learn more at www.labelsforeducation.com.  The class collecting the most labels will win a treat.

 Ø     Apply for a Target Visa card! – Receive 10% off of your purchases for that entire day (in stores).  Once you receive and activate your card call 1-800-316-6142 to designate Irving School as the school you wish to support.  Then every time you use your Target Visa at Target 1% of your purchase will benefit Irving School.  If you use your Target Visa elsewhere ½ % of your purchase will benefit Irving.

Ø     Ø     Shop at Office Depot! – At the check-out use our Office Depot Advantage Card # 1115350843 & also our 5% Back to School # 70030271.  During the year PTA will receive credits to purchase needed office supplies.  If you forget to bring the above numbers with you the cashier could look the numbers up by the school phone # (708)795-2334.

Ø     Ø     Shop at Sara Lee @ 2704 S. Harlem Ave! – Register your name, address & phone number at the store then designate Irving School to receive credit from your purchases.  5% of your purchase total will go to Irving.

Ø     Ø     Become a PTA volunteer! – Every little bit helps & your child will be proud you care so much about his/her school.  A list of opportunities to follow soon. 

PTA Board meetings are typically the second Tuesday of the month in the Irving School teacher lounge @ 7:00 pm.  All are welcome!  2008-09 meeting dates are scheduled as follows:        

            Tuesday January 13         Tuesday June 2
