Your mission is to learn to use Internet search engines effectively. |
Phase 1 |

| The mission begins with you completing the evaluation survey, click the image on the left. | |
| Watch this video An Internet Search Begins with you. | |

Now you can select your partner and share what you learned from the video. You will be working with this partner during the entire project. |
Phase 2 |
| Before moving on you need to watch this next video so you know how to arrange your document. |
You and your partner need to open MS Word and summarize your decision about the video (An Internet Search Begins with You). Each of you need a separate document. Make sure you save the document on the network (shared) drive in your class folder, then in your folder. Give the file a name that is clear, so I know what document is for this project. I will be reviewing your progress periodically, so if you do not save it on the network drive you might get a zero for that part. |
You and your partner need to select separate appropriate topics for the Internet searches. Examples of keys words are endangered birds, sports' gym shoes, hot rod cars, and so on. |

Answer one of the following questions in your Word document. Also, copy and paste the question you chose in the document. 1. How would you explain the difference in the number of web site hits for each search? Or 2. Discuss the pros and cons of using the different search tools. You must answer this question. What choice would you have made to do an actual search for your information? You must give a detailed explanation. |
