"5 DE MAYO"/MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATION 2007

May 5th celebrates an important Mexican victory against the powerful and sophisticated French army.  It is often confused with Mexican Independence Day, which occurs on September 16th.   The date lends itself to celebrations in the schools, testing is done and the end of the year is close at hand thereby allowing teachers and students time to practice and share their culture in the schools.  Our District 100 Bilingual students and staff take this opportunity to celebrate the diversity from their countries through song and dance.
